Better health for society

The Faculty of Health Sciences in Celje strives to achieve excellence through quality and innovative studies in the field of health sciences, thus contributing to improving the quality of the health system.

 

The Faculty runs the first cycle higher professional study programme in Nursing care and the second cycle Master’s degree programmes in Palliative Care and Nursing and strives to become a co-creator of development at the professional and scientific level of the health sciences. It contributes to the quality of higher education in Slovenia, especially in the Savinja (statistical) region, through its own excellence.

 

Therefore, the mission of the faculty is:

  • Quality delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate study programmes;
  • Planning and developing new study and scientific research programmes in the field of health sciences;
  • Ensuring a continuous flow of knowledge between higher education teachers, students and professionals from clinical and other backgrounds;
  • Creating the conditions for the professional and personal development of higher education teachers and staff and professional staff;
  • Acting in a socially responsible manner.

 

The vision of the faculty is:

The Faculty of Health Sciences in Celje will become an educational and scientific research institution of international recognition in the field of health sciences with high quality standards. It will be distinguished by effective cooperation with the clinical environment and socially responsible activities.

 

The values of the faculty

    Commitment to high professionalism and excellence in education, research and practice in order to meet the highest standards in the health sciences, while adhering to ethical principles in all aspects of operation, focusing on integrity, honesty and accountability to students, staff and patients.
  • Lifelong learning and research/innovation
    Promoting a culture of lifelong learning among students, staff and partners, with the aim of continuous lifelong learning, improving knowledge and skills, fostering creativity, innovation and research as key factors for the continuous improvement of practice and education in the health sciences.
  • Community and collaboration
    Building strong links with the wider community, students, staff and partners in the health sector, with a focus on working together for the benefit of all. Respecting diversity and ensuring an inclusive environment that promotes tolerance, respect and valuing of each individual.
  • Sustainability, ecology and social responsibility
    Caring for a sustainable future by being aware of the impact on the environment and promoting eco-conscious approaches in the education and operations of the Faculty. Raising awareness of social responsibility and advocating for a positive impact on the health status of the communities where the Faculty operates.

 

The FHVCE Development Strategy for the period 2024 – 2028 was discussed at the FHVCE bodies and adopted at the meeting of the Senate and the Board of the FHVCE on 1 February 2024.
