Project Description
The project Healthy Lifestyle for Aging Well (HLAW) was carried out within the Erasmus+ Programme, Key Action 2 – Strategic Partnerships in Higher Education. In addition to the Faculty of Health Sciences in Celje as the project coordinator, the University of Oulu (Finland), the Medical University of Lublin (Poland), and CESPO (Portugal) also participated.
The project aimed to study the healthy lifestyle of older adults, with a special focus on health literacy and physical activity among the elderly.
In the first phase, the partners focused on a literature review concerning health literacy and physical activity of older people in each country, as well as an overview of existing examples of good practices. This provided the theoretical foundation for conducting a joint international research study simultaneously in all four partner countries and for developing five new elective courses.
Two intensive two-week summer schools were also organized within the project.
