Project Description
The Faculty of Health Sciences in Celje was a partner in the project Digital Education in Nursing (DEN) between 2021 and 2023. The project was selected under the Erasmus+ programme, Key Action KA226. Besides the Faculty of Health Sciences in Celje, the following institutions also participated as partners: Goce Delcev University, North Macedonia; University of Novi Sad, Serbia; University of Applied Health Sciences, Zagreb, Croatia. The applicant and project coordinator was the University of Malmö, Sweden.
The general aim of the Digital Education in Nursing (DEN) project is to modernize existing curricula for nursing students by developing digital modules and integrating ICT technologies into lectures, seminars, and examinations, thereby updating pedagogical approaches. The results will have long-term positive effects on nursing education in the EU.
Due to the pandemic, traditional academic nursing education had to be rapidly adapted and reshaped with the help of digital technologies. The main goals of the project are to enhance lecturers’ ability to provide high-quality education, including digital education. The project focused on strengthening teachers’ competencies for both distance learning and hybrid teaching.
Project Activities
- Analysis of pedagogical approaches implemented during the pandemic, which included the use of ICT technologies at partner institutions.
- Implementation of a comparative analysis.
- Execution of a Delphi study – competencies in the field of digital education among higher education teachers in nursing programmes.
- Preparation of a handbook for the use of ICT technologies in the pedagogical process. The handbook is available at the provided link.
